The active ingredient in Juvederm Voluma is hyaluronic acid, a substance naturally produced by the body that diminishes as we get older. Voluma contains lidocaine to numb the injection site and the results can last as long as two years. It was first developed in Europe in 2005 without the lidocaine. It was then added four years later, in 2009. By 2013 it had obtained FDA approval and was available for use in 72 countries. Side Effects of Voluma<\/h2>\n
Voluma is a non-surgical treatment. It is less risky than surgery but it does have a few side effects worth noting. Of the ones reported, they are mild and temporary and may include:<\/p>\n
