Four years later, she developed cramping and jerky, rhythmic movements in her left quadricep muscles along with pain that did not respond to a range of treatments that were tried on her. Treatment with Botox eliminated the pain and reduced the severity of the movements.<\/p>\n
Botox is also used for blepharospasm, hemifacial spasm, spasmodic torticollis, spastic dysphonia and similar conditions involving muscle movements. Other treatments for spinal myoclonus that may be effective include certain tranquilizers and anticonvulsant medications, but success with these treatments varies.<\/p>\n
